This work was conceived during an artistic residence in Tibães, a Benedictine Monastery located in the North of Portugal (Braga) during two years.
It was done with little pieces of forest (leaves, sticks, acorns, branches, fruits, some mushrroms, barks, etc.) found on the ground and digitalized with a normal and very cheap scanner into a dark room.
It has no digital manipulation but some simple cleaning on the black background.

I am staggered at the marvellous imagery ... so many thoughts are going through my mind ... the vast history of the earth that is trapped in each of these moments. The decay & rebirth, the imagination & the trap, evolution & the end, the human & the vegetal.
I could spend hours, if not days, sharing my thoughts with you.
